Riton Optics has just released the first in their line of U.S.A. assembled optics. The Riton Patrioptic is a limited edition low power variable optic (LPVO) with a little added flare for the patriots among us.
The Riton Patrioptic 1-8×28 is limited edition optic and the first release of the U.S.A assembled line.
Eyes on the Patrioptic
The 1-8×28 Patrioptic is constructed from one piece of CNC machined, aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum. The exterior is Type III hard coat anodize, while the interior is purged and sealed, using argon gas. Though argon sounds like a Lord of the Rings character, this noble gas is used to make sure your optic works in all weather conditions. Riton uses what they call their High Density (HD)/Extra Dispersion (ED) glass. What the HD/ED glass does for you is allow 99.5% light transmission, while the low dispersion keeps colors true. The turrets use 1/2 MOA windage and elevation adjustments and are capped with Old Glory. The optic measures 10.9 inches in length and weighs 25 ounces.
The Patrioptic features the first focal plane, illuminated CM1 reticle. There are six levels of green illumination, in order to help with daylight brightness. The integrated throw lever is removable. If ruggedness is a prime concern, Riton’s website claims the Patrioptic is 100% waterproof, fog-proof, and shockproof. It uses a 34mm tube, with a 28mm objective lens diameter. Perhaps the most patriotic part of this optic is the price. MSRP on the Riton Optics Patrioptic is $1,776 when purchased directly from Riton. Included with your sight are flip-up lens covers, a lens cloth, and an Allen wrench.
