Holosun has just announced their latest series of red dot pistol optics that takes inspiration from their popular V2 series of optics. The Holosun X2 Series of red dots will feature major upgrades to previous red dot optics by Holosun that should make them more suitable for field use.
New X2 Series Pistol Optics just Announced by Holosun
The addition of the X2 series of optics was announced on the official Holosun Facebook page:
In the coming weeks, Holosun will introduce our new X2 series of pistol optics. The X2 series adds an innovative Lock Mode to the existing Auto and Manual Mode functions (Only Solar Failsafe models have Auto Mode). Lock Mode will lockout the buttons preventing inadvertent setting changes. In addition, the buttons have been re-sized to compliment the new Lock Mode feature.
In September we expect to begin shipping the HS407C X2, HE407C-GR X2, HS407CO X2, HS507C X2, HS507C-GR X2, HS407K X2, and HS507K X2. In October we expect to begin shipping the HE508T-RD X2 and HE508T-GR X2 models. Images and more information to come.
The addition of the “lock mode” seems to be a highly anticipated feature for these pistol red dots. The lockout mode could prevent changes being made to the brightness settings when carrying and deploying the pistol. In addition, the side-mounted battery is a neat option I think will bring in some from the competition camp who are constantly using their red dots as this will make for much easier in-field replacements.
Adapted from our 2018-2019 L/M (Law Enforcement Model) pistol optics, Lock Mode has been incorporated with a new button configuration that combines for easier control of settings and prevents unwanted setting changes while carrying.
The X2 series of red dots will all be shipping soon but for those who cannot wait, the HS507C and HS507K X2 series of red dots are now available from the Holosun website.
