Sig Sauer’s newest addition to the M400 TREAD family is designed specifically designed for hunting predators. Yes, an AR-15 hunting platform, with the AR advantage of long and close-range capabilities. The M400 TREAD Predator is chambered in 5.56 NATO which is a good cartridge for hunting mid-sized game like hogs and coyotes, thus, the name “Predator”.
With aluminum upper flat top and lower receivers, the Predator retains some of the features seen throughout the TREAD line, including ambidextrous controls, and a 16″ stainless steel TREAD barrel with a thread protector to eliminate snag points.
So what distinguishes the M400 TREAD Predator from the rest of the TREAD rifles?
Adjustable Precision Stock
15″ Free-Floating Predator Handguard
The Predator handguard works with the TREAD system, with minor differences.
Finish, Magazine, and Trigger
The M400 TREAD Predator is treated with a Cerakote Elite Jungle finish to protect the rifle from harsh conditions and aids in concealability. It comes with a hunting compliant 5-round Magpul Magazine, and a hardened polished trigger.
